TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED BY STUDENTS RESIDING IN CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE DUE TO SNOW AND LOSS OF ELECTRICITY ON MARCH 2, 3, AND 4, 2009, ARE EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO SNOW, EXTREME WEATHER, OR OTHER DISRUPTIONS BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-425(C) of the 1976 Code, the requirement that the school days missed by students residing in Cherokee County School District One due to snow and loss of electricity on March 2, 3, and 4, 2009, are waived from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to snow, extreme weather, or other disruptions be made up.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
