A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR ROBERT "BOB" MARSHALL, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE TO THE PEPSI-COLA COMPANY, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Robert "Bob" Marshall began a much-deserved retirement after thirty-eight years of service to the Pepsi-Cola Company on April 25, 2011, and that he will be honored at a party to be held in Charleston on June 29, 2011; and

Whereas, born in Michigan, he graduated from St. Rita High School in Detroit in 1970 and began working there for the Pepsi-Cola Company in 1974; and

Whereas, on July 10, 1976, he married his beloved wife, the former Sandy Kline, and together they reared two fine daughters, Stephanie and Jessica; and

Whereas, the family moved to South Carolina in 1987 to serve Pepsi-Cola in Anderson; then they moved to Augusta, Georgia, in 1990 and to Lexington in 1986 where they still reside; and

Whereas, at the Pepsi-Cola Company in Columbia, he served as vice president and general manager, beloved and respected by the more than fifteen hundred employees he managed; and

Whereas, devoted to his adopted community, he actively served on the boards of the Columbia Urban League, the Columbia branch of the NAACP, the Columbia United Football Club, the Midlands Heart Association, and the Eau Claire Community Council; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the standard of excellence that Bob Marshall brought to the Pepsi-Cola Company of Columbia, and after giving a lot to Pepsi, in the words of the 1970 Pepsi jingle, now he's "got a lot to live." Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Robert "Bob" Marshall, upon the occasion of his retirement after thirty-eight years of faithful service to the Pepsi-Cola Company, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Robert "Bob" Marshall.
