The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 5:9: "The Lord has heard my supplication; The Lord accepts my prayer."
Let us pray. Hear us, O Lord, as we call upon You for the duties and responsibilities of the day; for guidance of our actions and for the joys that You have for each of us. We ask for courage to accomplish the work set before us, that it may be complete and provide for the greater good of this State. Bless our leaders of Nation and State and keep them in Your care and provide for each of us Your love and concern. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
