A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR KYLE FISHER, DEFENDER FOR THE CLEMSON UNIVERSITY MEN'S SOCCER TEAM, FOR A REMARKABLE SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR BEING NAMED THE 2015 ATLANTIC COAST CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are delighted to learn that defender Kyle Fisher was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Defensive Player of the Year for 2015; and

Whereas, in the 2015 season, Kyle Fisher was a senior studying management as he started in twenty games on the Clemson back line, playing for a total of 1,795 minutes, and during those twenty games, Clemson opponents scored only seventeen goals for an average of 0.85 goals per game; and

Whereas, the senior from Easley was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) First-Team All-American, the College Cup All-Tournament Team, the First-Team All ACC, and Top Drawer Soccer Postseason Best XI First Team; and

Whereas, Kyle Fisher was one of fifteen semifinalists for the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Herman Trophy Award and was ranked tenth in the Postseason National Top 100 according to Top Drawer Soccer; and

Whereas, one of Clemson's three team captains, he was a first-round selection and the fourteenth overall pick in the 2016 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, chosen by the Montreal Impact; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the honor and recognition that Kyle Fisher has brought to Clemson University and to our State and look to hear of his continued achievements in the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Kyle Fisher, defender for the Clemson University men's soccer team, for a remarkable season and to congratulate him for being named the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Kyle Fisher.
