A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE TWENTY-NINE SOUTH CAROLINA TECHNICAL COLLEGE STUDENTS NAMED TO SOUTH CAROLINA'S 2015 ACADEMIC ALL-STATE TEAM BY PHI THETA KAPPA HONOR SOCIETY IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR SCHOLARLY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND SERVICE TO THEIR COMMUNITIES.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly note with pride the accomplishments of the 2015 South Carolina All-State Academic Team, and welcome them to the State House on Tuesday, March 31, 2015; and

Whereas, these twenty-nine outstanding students from South Carolina's technical colleges were chosen for this honor by technical-college presidents on the basis of academic performance, leadership accomplishments, and service to their colleges and local communities; and

Whereas, sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the All-State Academic Team competition was created to bring national and statewide recognition to outstanding students of technical colleges, community colleges, and junior colleges; and

Whereas, these students were South Carolina's representatives in the All-USA Academic Team competition, also sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society; and

Whereas, their outstanding records make these students worthy representatives of this State and bring to them, their families, and all the citizens of South Carolina great cause for pride; and

Whereas, appreciative of their fine work, the General Assembly is delighted to add its collective voice to the choruses of congratulations now pouring in to these outstanding South Carolina technical-college students. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate the twenty-nine South Carolina technical college students named to South Carolina's 2015 Academic All-State Team by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in recognition of their scholarly accomplishments and service to their communities.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to each team member.
