The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 37:28: "For the Lord loves justice; He will not forsake His faithful ones."

Let us pray. Gracious and loving God, You direct our lives in ways we do not understand, but by the faith, hope, and love that You grant these people, they accept Your direction in their lives. Continue to help them to do what is good and fair for those they serve. Provide Your blessings on our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and those who contribute to the welfare of the people of this State. Be with them and care for them and give them a restful weekend. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors who have suffered and sacrificed for our freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
