A BILL

TO AMEND ACT 84 OF 2011, RELATING TO THE TIME AND METHOD BY WHICH THE NINE MEMBERS OF THE FLORENCE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NUMBER THREE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ARE ELECTED, SO AS TO REAPPORTION THE FIVE SINGLE-MEMBER ELECTION DISTRICTS AND THE TWO MULTIMEMBER ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH THESE NINE MEMBERS MUST BE ELECTED, TO DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THESE SINGLE-MEMBER AND MULTIMEMBER ELECTION DISTRICTS ARE DELINEATED, AND TO PROVIDE DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE REAPPORTIONED ELECTION DISTRICTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 2    (B) of Act 84 of 2011 is amended to read:

"Section    2.    (B)(1)    Members must be elected from the election districts set forth in subsection (A) which are recorded on the official map designated as S 41-03-04 S-41-03-15 prepared by and on file with the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office. The Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office shall provide a certified copy of the map to the school district and the Florence County Election and Voter Registration Commission Board of Voter Registration and Elections. The official map must not be changed except by an act of the General Assembly or by a court of competent jurisdiction.

(2)    The demographic information shown on this map is as follows:

SECTION    2.    Notwithstanding another provision of law, the map referenced in this act alters only the boundaries of the single-member election districts that compose Florence County School District Number Three. It does not alter the exterior boundaries of Florence County School District Number Three.

SECTION    3.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
