A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR ROSEMARY MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR ITS COMMENDABLE STANDARDS IN EDUCATION AND ITS MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING THE 2016-2017 SCHOOL YEAR.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Rosemary Middle School has achieved many of its goals for the year and should be commended in recognition of those successes; and

Whereas, Rosemary Middle is able to claim the South Carolina BETA Club State President as one of their own outstanding seventh graders. Additionally, the club was the winner of the recyclable art contest at the State BETA Club Convention.

Whereas, moreover, the girls basketball B team managed to clinch the 2016-2017 conference runner-up, and the B team football team went undefeated; and

Whereas, Rosemary also developed the "Chat and Chew", a mentoring program for at-risk boys and girls that takes place during lunch, and Boys Nurtured to Lead, another mentoring program, for at-risk black males to help encourage good character and grades in school; and

Whereas, fully expecting continued academic excellence from this standout school, Representative Carl Anderson of House District 103 is pleased to recognize the fine educational achievements of Rosemary Middle School for the 2016-2017 school year at the ceremony he is sponsoring in Georgetown on May 4, 2017. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Rosemary Middle School for its commendable standards in education and its many accomplishments during the 2016-2017 school year.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to representatives of Rosemary Middle School.
