VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE SILVER BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACH DE'ANGELO BRYANT FOR BEING SELECTED AS THE SOUTH CAROLINA AA LOWER STATE COACH OF THE YEAR.
Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to learn that the 2021 South Carolina Football Coaches Association has named Coach De'Angelo Bryant the AA Lower State Coach of the Year; and
Whereas, a proud graduate of Silver Bluff High School, Coach Bryant returned to his alma mater as the head football coach after obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Wake Forest University and his Master of Education degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University, as well as after building ten years of experience in the education field through teaching United States Government, Economics, Civics, and World History; and
Whereas, in 2014, Coach Bryant founded NexStep Student-Athlete Academy, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide high-level preparation in education to student athletes to help them excel in specific areas for college recruitment. He also serves as a National Correspondent and Independent Contractor for a privately-held NFL draft magazine; and
Whereas, in coaching student athletes, Coach Bryant relies on his own college football playing experiences and places great importance on academic effort, image, community service, and sportsmanship when preparing students to achieve athletic aspirations and dreams; and
Whereas, since returning to Silver Bluff in 2018, Coach Bryant has led the Silver Bluff Bulldogs to success as head coach. On Friday, November 26, 2021, the Silver Bluff Bulldogs clinched the Class AA Lower State Football Championship, defeating Barnwell 42-35 in a rivalry game which lived up to its tradition and pre-game hype; and
Whereas, by season's end as Lower State Champions, Coach Bryant, his fine staff, and the entire team saw all their hard work and determination pay off; and
Whereas, grateful for Coach Bryant's dedicated service to the Silver Bluff Bulldog community, Aiken County, and the State of South Carolina, the Senate takes great pleasure in saluting him for receiving the prestigious AA Lower State Coach of the Year award. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Coach De'Angelo Bryant for being selected as the 2021 South Carolina AA Lower State Football Coach of the Year and wish him, his staff, and his team all the best in the future.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach De'Angelo Bryant.
