A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MAYBELLE GREEN-LITTLES ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDRED AND FIRST BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HER A JOYOUS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND MUCH HAPPINESS IN THE DAYS AHEAD.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to learn that Maybelle Green-Littles celebrated this important milestone on September 13, 2021; and

Whereas, a native of Eutawville, Mrs. Green-Littles was born on September 13, 1920 to parents Edna Johnson Green and Charlie Green; and

Whereas, Mrs. Green-Littles worked as a caregiver for many years, and she also served as a site supervisor for USDA Summer Food Service Program; and

Whereas, a devout Christian, she is a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Bowman, where she is a member of the Senior Choir and Missionary; and

Whereas, Mrs. Green-Littles married Jessroe Littles, Sr. on February 28, 1939, and together they had thirteen children, Paul Littles, Shirley Littles, Rosa Mae Rush, Wilmar Littles, Jessie Littles Brown, Dora Littles Edwards, Charlie Littles, Mary Littles, Betsey Littles, Russcener Littles, Jessore Littles, Jr., Vera Littles Johnson, and Schriell Littles; and

Whereas, in her free time, she enjoys gardening, fishing, cooking, and visiting friends and family; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate takes great pleasure in honoring this daughter of South Carolina at the celebration of her one hundred and first birthday and is pleased to join with her family and friends in congratulating her. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Maybelle Green-Littles on the occasion of her one hundred and first birthday and wish her a joyous birthday celebration and much happiness in the days ahead.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Maybelle Green-Littles.
