TO HONOR NUCOR BUILDINGS GROUP SOUTH CAROLINA AT THE CELEBRATION OF ITS TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY, TO CONGRATULATE THE DIVISION AND ITS OVER THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY TEAMMATES AND FAMILIES ON A QUARTER OF A CENTURY OF PRODUCING STEEL BUILDINGS AND BUILDING MATERIALS, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR ITS CONTINUED SUCCESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to learn that Nucor Buildings Group South Carolina is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2022; and

Whereas, Nucor Buildings Group South Carolina began operations in 1997 as Nucor Building Systems South Carolina. The company is now one of North America's largest and most experienced manufacturers of metal building systems and is a single-source supplier of primary metal building materials, including solar structures and insulated panels manufactured by TrueCore in Laurens, South Carolina; and

Whereas, in 2018, Nucor Buildings Group South Carolina invested approximately seven million dollars in their Swansea operation and added more than sixty teammates. Nucor Buildings Group South Carolina is proud to call Swansea, Lexington County, and South Carolina home; and

Whereas, since 2009, Nucor has invested almost five hundred million dollars to modernize its facilities in South Carolina. The company employs more than two thousand teammates across South Carolina at its divisions in Darlington, Florence, Berkeley, Laurens, Lexington, and York Counties; and

Whereas, Nucor teammates and their dependents are eligible to receive an annual scholarship to college or vocational school. More than one hundred million dollars in scholarships have been awarded nationwide since 1974; and

Whereas, to commemorate its twenty-fifth milestone, the division will host an anniversary celebration on October 28, 2022; and

Whereas, appreciative of its contributions to the prosperity of the Palmetto State, the Senate is delighted to salute Nucor Buildings Group South Carolina on twenty-five years of excellence in serving the citizens of South Carolina and beyond. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, honor Nucor Buildings Group South Carolina at the celebration of its twenty-fifth anniversary, congratulate the division and its over three hundred and eighty teammates and families on a quarter of a century of outstanding endeavors, and extend best wishes for its continued success in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the entire team at Nucor Buildings Group South Carolina, Swansea, South Carolina.
