A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR BRADLEY GREGG DEWITT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY PATROL, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON HIS PROMOTION TO CAPTAIN OVER AREA COORDINATED ENFORCEMENT (ACE) AND THE SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY PATROL UNITED STATES MARSHAL AND DRUG ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION TASK FORCE.

Whereas, with deep gratitude, the South Carolina House of Representatives salutes those in our communities like Bradley Gregg DeWitt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol who sacrificially serve and protect their communities; and

Whereas, born and raised in Darlington, Captain DeWitt attended Byrnes Academy and graduated from Camden Military Academy to prepare for a career in service; and

Whereas, he studied criminal justice at Florence Darlington Technical College and is a graduate of the 1996 South Carolina Highway Patrol Basic 69; and

Whereas, Captain DeWitt was first stationed for duty in Orangeburg and was transferred to Darlington in 1998. Since then he has been assigned duty stations from the Piedmont area to the Grand Strand; and

Whereas, a six-time DUI MADD Award Winner, he has faithfully served the South Carolina Highway Patrol for twenty-six years and has been appointed to the South Carolina Highway Patrol Target Zero Team, in addition to the Criminal Interdiction Unit; and

Whereas, having been promoted through the ranks, Captain DeWitt currently serves over Area Coordinated Enforcement (ACE) and the South Carolina Highway Patrol United States Marshal and Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force; and

Whereas, dedicated to his community, he serves as a volunteer fireman at Howe Springs Fire and Rescue, successfully integrating two entities of first response; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives and citizens of the Palmetto State are indebted to Bradley DeWitt for his outstanding contributions and service to the safety of their communities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Bradley Gregg DeWitt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and congratulate him on his promotion to Captain over Area Coordinated Enforcement (ACE) and the South Carolina Highway Patrol United States Marshal and Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Captain Bradley Gregg DeWitt.
