Reference is to the bill as introduced.
Amend the bill, as and if amended, by striking Section 59-103-15(B)(2), as contained in SECTION 1, beginning on page 1, and inserting:
/ (2) Four-year colleges and universities
(a)
college-level baccalaureate education and selected
master's degrees which lead to employment or continued
education, or both, except for doctoral degrees
currently being offered;
(b)
highly focused doctoral degrees offered
that:
(i)
are not unnecessarily
duplicative of any university doctoral program;
(ii)
reflect the unique research expertise of a cadre
of faculty in the discipline sufficient to sustain doctoral
level research at the four-year institution; and
(iii)
meet the needs of the State;
(b)(c) limited
and specialized research;
(c)(d) public
service to the State and the local community; /
Renumber sections to conform.
Amend title to conform.
