Senator DAVIS proposed the following amendment (5399R003.KMM.TD):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, by adding an appropriately lettered new subsection to Section 44-41-830 to read:

/( ) A physician who performs or induces an abortion in a hospital setting pursuant to this section is immune from criminal prosecution regarding medical procedures and treatments administered to the pregnant woman if those medical procedures and treatments are consistent with the current standard of care for a physician practicing in obstetrics and gynecology. Immunity from criminal liability as provided in this subsection also extends to any nurse, technician, or other person who participates in medical procedure or treatment with or at the direction of the physician./
