SCDOT Modernization
Senator Alexander proposes the following amendment (SR-831.CEM0009S):
Amend the bill, as and if amended, SECTION 17, by striking Section 11-35-710(A)(1) and inserting:
(1) the construction, maintenance, and repair of bridges, highways, and roads; vehicle and road equipment maintenance and repair; and other emergency-type parts or equipment utilized by the Department of Transportation or the Department of Public Safety the acquisition by the Department of Transportation of: transportation planning; the construction, maintenance, design, financing, operation, and repair of bridges, highways, roads, and other improvements within the state rights of way; technology related to operations within the state rights of way; and vehicle and road equipment maintenance and repair and other emergency-type parts and equipment. This exemption does not apply to welcome centers operated or staffed by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism;Renumber sections to conform.
