Redistricting, Congressional Districts

Rep. GRANT proposes the following amendment (LC-5683.HA0004H):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, by adding an appropriately numbered SECTION to read:

SECTION X. Chapter 19, Title 7 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

 Section 7-19-56. All data utilized or otherwise considered for creating any map for redistricting purposes, including communications with outside consultants, shall be made available to the public prior to the adoption of a redistricting map. In addition, any map considered by either the House of Representatives or the Senate shall be available for public review prior to the adoption of a redistricting map.
