Rep. KING proposes the following amendment (LC-5683.HA0116H):

Amend the bill, as and if amended, by adding an appropriately numbered SECTION to read:

SECTION X. Any candidate who successfully filed for a congressional candidacy in accordance with the law prior to the effective date of this act may refile for congressional candidacy after the effective date of this act without payment of any additional filing fees. In addition, these congressional candidates whose congressional districts have been reassigned pursuant to this act may submit verified documentation to the State Election Commission for reimbursement of campaign expenditures that were incurred through the effective date of this act in reliance upon the congressional district boundaries in effect immediately before the effective date of this act. The State Election Commission shall establish a process for campaign expenditure reimbursements for these congressional candidates.

To further amend the bill, as and if amended, by adding an appropriately numbered SECTION to read:

SECTION X. The passage of this act shall require two-thirds approval of the majority party and two-thirds approval of the minority party in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
