TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL EXAMINERS, RELATING TO PRACTICE OF ARCHITECTURE, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1369, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Architectural Examiners, relating to Practice of Architecture, designated as Regulation Document Number 1369, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
These regulations are amended to allow for changes in the uniform Architectural Registration Examination, changes in Title 33, Chapter 19 and Title 40, Chapter 3, South Carolina Code of Laws, 1976 known as the South Carolina Professional Corporation Supplement and the Architectural Registration Laws respectively. These changes will bring the regulations into compliance with the Architectural Registration Law as amended through April 18, 1988.
Amended regulations also clarify how firms may be named, how registrants' seals should be designed and used, and requirements for cooperation with board investigations. Changes also restrict registration for persons convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude and lift restriction for persons with physical disabilities.
