TO ABOLISH THE ABBEVILLE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION AND DEVOLVE ITS POWERS AND DUTIES UPON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF ABBEVILLE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 60, AND TO CHANGE THE NAME OF ABBEVILLE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 60 TO THE ABBEVILLE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2000.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Upon the effective date of this act, the Abbeville County Board of Education shall be abolished and its powers and duties devolved upon the Board of Trustees of Abbeville County School District 60.
SECTION 2. Commencing July 1, 2000, the name of Abbeville County School District 60 is changed to and thereafter shall be known as the Abbeville County School District.
SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
