TO RECOGNIZE MR. SAMUEL D. BASS, JR., OF CHESTERFIELD COUNTY FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF UNSELFISH PUBLIC SERVICE AND HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE 4-H YOUTH AND AGRICULTURE PROGRAMS AND TO WISH HIM EVERY HAPPINESS AND GOOD FORTUNE IN HIS RETIREMENT.
Whereas, Samuel D. Bass, Jr., has been an Agriculture Extension Agent in Chesterfield County since July 1997; and
Whereas, prior to coming to Chesterfield County, he worked in Marlboro, Dillon, and Chesterfield Counties twenty-four years, 1973-1997, with the South Carolina State University Extension Service and as a high school agriculture teacher for three years, 1970 to 1973, and with the Chesterfield County School District; and
Whereas, Mr. Bass has devoted his adult life to promoting education and fostering youth development and agriculture programs in Chesterfield, Marlboro, and Dillon Counties, as well as across the State; and
Whereas, he has shared his experience and expertise with many organizations and professional associations, where he has been a distinguished leader and has won the respect and admiration of his peers; and
Whereas, Mr. Bass has given selflessly of his time and talents in service to others and in the vanguard of improving the quality of life for all, making invaluable contributions to the citizens of his community and the State; and
Whereas, his devotion and commitment to the youth and their families in Chesterfield County is unprecedented, guiding these young people through agriculture and educational programs and serving as an extraordinary mentor and role model; and
Whereas, it is proper and fitting for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations to recognize such an outstanding individual, leader, and mentor. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize Mr. Samuel D. Bass, Jr., of Chesterfield County for his many years of unselfish public service and his contributions to the 4-H Youth and Agriculture Programs and wish him every happiness and good fortune in his retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Samuel D. Bass, Jr., Chesterfield, South Carolina.
