AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 27-33-50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO A TENANT'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR GAS, ELECTRIC, WATER, SEWERAGE, OR GARBAGE SERVICES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THESE REQUIREMENTS DO NOT APPLY TO A LANDLORD WHOSE PROPERTY IS A MULTI-UNIT BUILDING CONSISTING OF FOUR OR MORE RESIDENTIAL UNITS SERVED BY A MASTER METER OR SINGLE CONNECTION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Exception to provisions of section
SECTION 1. Section 27-33-50 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 336 of 2002, is amended by adding at the end:
"(C) This provision does not apply to a landlord whose property is a multi-unit building consisting of four or more residential units served by a master meter or single connection."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 5th day of June, 2003.
Approved the 25th day of June, 2003.
